- A number of odd jobs that really needed doing
Started the day with a shock realisation that I had not put in the
bolts where the RV-7A attaches its landing gear. I had left
the holes open and rereading the plans showed me that bolts needed
to be put in. I had missed 12 in total !!!!
The
ones in the middle of the fuselage and at the bottom of the
bulkhead were a little tricky to put in at this stage !! however
some judicious fabrication of heath Robinson tooling and I did
managed to get the job done. You can see them bang in the
middle of the picture and at the bottom of the spar web.

Because I am building the tail dragger version then
some gussets need to be drilled and bolted on in the forward cabin
area

I also had not tightened up the bolts for the fuel
tank attach bracket

I decided that I would turn my attention to start
thinking about how I would bring the static line forward, so in
the seat area I created a p-clip with a 1/4" radius to take the
line and riveted it in place to go under the cabin frame area.
The second shot shows that it will be well hidden underneath the
frame.

I have seen some builders who fix the baggage
floors with pop rivets put in some cable trunking just in case
extra equipment is put in during later years or needed for servos
etc. I wont be needing it, but its better in now than
struggle later. Have not quite finished it yet but you get
the idea.

Final job of the day was to rivet down the firewall
gussets.
